Deadline to Apply: January 20th, 2025 – 11:59PM/23h59 Atlantic
Eligibility: Artists living in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
Struts Gallery is amped to announce this year’s Media Arts Production Fund Call for Submissions. This annual program is designed to help support the production of media arts projects by artists at all career levels.
The Media Arts Production Fund is a regional fund open to artists living in Atlantic Canada and supports the creation of media arts projects including video, audio, XR, film, new media, performance, digital, electronics, 3D printing, and time-based art. Commercial music videos, music recordings, digital plays, and digital theatre are not eligible for the production fund.
Successful applicants will receive:
An artist stipend of up to $3000, which can be used towards materials and production expenses, equipment purchases, and/or living expenses;
A $1000 in-house production credit, including equipment rental, software use, facilities use, and support and training from Struts staff (maximum of 20 hours, $30/hour); and
Short term accommodations (up to two weeks) in Struts’ apartment may be available upon request.
The Media Arts Production Fund does not include funds towards travel. Struts staff can provide letters of support for any artists applying for travel grants to use its facilities.
The in-house production credit expires at the end of the fiscal year (April 1st, 2026). Production credits can only be used towards the production of the project proposed.
Proposals will be assessed by a jury consisting of Struts staff and community members. Successful proposals must publicly acknowledge the support of Struts Gallery on social media and elsewhere when applicable.
If these guidelines present an obstacle to you or your work, we will strive to accommodate alternative formats including video or audio proposals. Please email or call to arrange this accommodation — gallery staff are happy to assist.
Feel free to contact Production Manager Lucas Morneau if you have any questions through their email — lucas@strutsgallery.ca.
