Join us as Open Studio artist-in-residence Marc Bell reads selected excerpts from his comics, with special guest Madeleine Hansen. This event is free and all are welcome.
Marc Bell has befuddled and bemused his readers for over twenty years. He is the author of Stroppy, Hot Potatoe [sic], Pure Pajamas, and Shrimpy and Paul and Friends and is a co-founder of The All-Star Schnauzer Band. His comics have appeared in many Canadian weeklies, Vice, and LA Weekly. He has also shown his artwork in galleries all over the world. He appeared in Sackville, NB during the Spring of 2015 to distribute some jam (for FREE) but there were not many takers (if any). marcbelldept.com
Madeleine Hansen is a cartoonist based in Sackville, New Brunswick. Her work is largely auto-biographical and focuses on intimacy and the small moments that make up daily life. Growing up anxious and shy, Hansen uses her comics as a means towards connecting with others through shared experiences and vulnerability.
