miniature food party

June 17th, 2009

I guess a saltine cube stuffed with tuna and potato is smaller than say a T-bone steak, but the saltines weren’t miniature, and so I dunno if they count. An omlette stuffed with cheesies and banana is also definitely not miniature, and I don’t think it can count either. Both solutions should score high in gross out factor and ingenuity though, which is no surprise since they came from the minds of Mitchell Wiebe and Eryn Foster. Also low marks for my drawing of an omlette with cheesies and banana in it.

Eric’s Trip

So I made a video this weekend which I will screen on Thursday at my artists talk. Show up to Struts at 7 and eat some gyoza, get some tips on how to quit being so damn Canadian and get ahead, and watch my movie.

My mom sent me a perfect card, but more perfect are the grease drawings she included on the envelope (which made my day mom!). If you can’t read it, she’s annotated the drawings as lunch.

Report Card

June 11th, 2009

I got my report card in the mail today. The admin assistant Patsy drew that lovely smiley face on the post it note. I got 6 of these reports from a group of 10 critics who sat in on my final crit. This one is one of the harsher ones. Heh. This one says I have a problem with endings and my work is not serious in the sense of deep, accomplished…etc. He’s got a point. I made all my work this semester about balloons. One project I dressed up jumbo yellow balloons like babies (and some of adults) and took photos of them. When I didn’t know what else to do I kept doing it, like a one trick pony. Why am I sharing this? Maybe you’re curious what a report card from Yale looks like.
